Common questions
How many guests can come on a bachelorette sail?+
Our bachelorette charters host up to 12 guests on a single private yacht, the most common size for a bridal party plus the bride. If your group is larger, we can coordinate a second boat sailing alongside so everyone stays together on the water. Reach out with your headcount and we'll confirm the right boat and crew setup. The boat is yours alone, no strangers, no shared cruise.
Can we bring our own drinks, snacks, or a cake?+
Yes, bring whatever you want onboard. Champagne, seltzers, cocktails, a charcuterie board, a custom bachelorette cake, sashes, banners, balloons (please no confetti, Lake Travis is a public waterway). We provide the iced cooler and cups; you provide the menu. Many groups bring a caterer's drop-off platter to the dock right before boarding, and we help carry it onboard.
Sunset sail or daytime sail, which is better for a bachelorette?+
Both are popular and the right answer depends on the vibe. The 2-hour sunset sail is the classic, golden-hour photos, champagne toast as the sun sets behind the hills, and you're back at the dock in time for a downtown Austin dinner reservation. The 4-hour daytime sail is built for groups who want to swim, float, sunbathe, and really settle in. Bachelorettes who want both swim stops and sunset usually book the 4-hour and time it to end at golden hour.
Can we stop and swim?+
Yes, on the 4-hour daytime sail your captain will anchor in a quiet swim cove with our swim ladder deployed so your group can jump in, float, and cool off. Lake Travis water is clean, deep, and beautifully clear in the summer. We recommend bringing inflatable floats, a waterproof speaker for the swim, and reef-safe sunscreen. Swim stops aren't possible on the 2-hour sunset sail since we're maximizing time under sail.
What should the bride and bridesmaids wear?+
Anything you'd wear to a pool day or a rooftop bar works perfectly, sundresses, swimsuits with coverups, denim shorts, white outfits for the bride. Bring a light layer for after sunset (Lake Travis cools off quickly once the sun drops). Closed-toe shoes aren't required but soft-soled sandals or barefoot is ideal, no heels on deck. Plan your photo outfits with the golden-hour light in mind; it's the prettiest light you'll get all weekend.
How far in advance should we book?+
For Saturday sunset sails in peak bachelorette season (April–June and September–October), three to six weeks of lead time is ideal. Friday and Sunday sails and weekday charters book up later. We've pulled off bachelorette sails with as little as a week's notice when boats are available, but the more time you give us, the better the captain pairing, slot timing, and decor coordination. Lock the date as soon as the bride says yes to the lake.
What happens if the weather is bad?+
Safety wins, every time. If your captain cancels for weather, lightning, or unsafe wind, you reschedule for free, no fine print, no rebooking fees. Light rain or overcast skies usually don't cancel a sail; some of the most dramatic Lake Travis sunsets happen on partly cloudy evenings. Your safety and your experience always come first.
