“What a great experience! We did their Amore/Sunset Cruise, it was so pretty and relaxing. Carol in the office is wonderful. She showed us the options for the charcuterie board, even texted us later when she saw some crostini bread she thought we might prefer over crackers…she was correct. Clark, our captain, was great, informative but didn't turn the cruise into a history lesson. We got to the perfect spot to have our snack and watch the sunset.”

Loved on Lake Travis
Sunset sailors love it here.
“I was looking for something different for my girlfriend's birthday, the sunset cruise knocked it out of the park! We met Thomas at the boat, brought our own wine, and spent the next two hours floating along, enjoying the cool light breeze, the lake, and stories about the area. I got extra credit points for a perfect evening. Overall it was a gorgeous boat ride from a viewpoint not everyone else gets to see. Worth it.”
“This is a 'must do'! Carol does such an amazing job setting a very high bar for the rest of your experience. Wife and I took the 4-hour sunset sail with Clark. Very friendly and kept us entertained. Extremely knowledgeable about sailing, as you'd want out of a captain. Great service all around.”

Good to know
Common questions
When does the sunset sail leave the dock?+
Our captained sunset sails on Lake Travis depart roughly 90 minutes before the official sunset, so the exact launch time shifts with the season. In the spring and fall you can expect a 5:30–6:30 PM departure, while peak summer sailings push out closer to 7:00–7:30 PM. We confirm your precise launch time the moment we book your charter, and we recommend arriving at Lakeway Marina 15 minutes early to settle in before we cast off. That timing puts you on open water just as the Texas sky starts its color show.
Can we bring food and drinks?+
Absolutely, bringing your own food and drinks is part of what makes a private sunset charter feel like your night, not a tour. Pack a charcuterie board, a bottle of wine, beer, cocktails, or a full picnic, and we'll provide the iced cooler, ice, and cups onboard. Most guests bring wine and light bites; some bring pizza or tacos straight from an Austin favorite. The only rule is no glass bottles for hard liquor, wine and beer bottles are perfectly fine.
I want to propose. Can you help?+
Yes, we host dozens of proposals on Lake Travis every year and we love being part of the moment. Add proposal coordination to your booking and we'll handle the logistics: discreet flower placement, hidden champagne, a chase boat with a professional photographer, and even custom signage if you want it. Your captain will know the timing down to the minute and will keep things natural until you give the signal. All you have to do is the hard part; we take care of the setup, the timing, and getting you back to the dock.
What happens if the weather is bad?+
Safety wins, every time. If your captain cancels for weather, lightning, or unsafe wind, you reschedule for free, no fine print, no rebooking fees. Light rain or overcast skies usually don't cancel a sail; some of the most dramatic Lake Travis sunsets happen on partly cloudy evenings. Your safety and your experience always come first.
Is it really private?+
Completely private, your booking is the only booking on that yacht, that night. There are no shared trips, no strangers joining you, and no upsells once you're aboard. Whether it's a couple, a family, or a group of ten, the entire boat, captain, and crew are dedicated to your party for the full two hours. That's what makes our captained sunset sail on Lake Travis worth the drive from anywhere in Austin.
