Lake Travis stretches nearly 64 miles through the Hill Country, with limestone shorelines, scenic coves, swim spots, and lively anchorages. At booking, tell us whether you're looking for a quiet scenic sail, a swim stop, or a more social day on the water. Your captain will choose the best route based on conditions and can adjust as you go.
Can we swim off the boat?+
Absolutely, swimming is the heart of a daytime sailing charter on Lake Travis. We anchor in calm, clear coves with a built-in swim ladder, plus pool noodles and floats for lounging. The lake water is famously clean and cool, especially down deep, and the limestone bottom keeps everything visible. Many guests spend half their charter in the water, then climb back aboard for lunch and a nap on the foredeck.
Are kids welcome?+
Yes, daytime charters are extremely family-friendly and we host kids of all ages every week. We carry USCG-approved life jackets in every size from infant to adult, and your captain will brief everyone on basic safety before we leave the dock. Captains pick the calmest, shallowest coves for swim stops with younger kids, and most boats have a shaded interior cabin for naps. Bring snacks, books, and sunscreen, the rest takes care of itself.
What should we bring?+
Pack swimsuits, reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, soft-soled shoes (no black-soled sneakers, please), and a towel for the drive home. Bring your favorite snacks, sandwiches, fruit, and any drinks, we have the iced cooler, ice, and cups ready. A waterproof Bluetooth speaker is welcome but optional, since every charter boat has its own onboard sound system. Most importantly, bring your favorite playlist, your captain will queue it up the moment we leave the dock.
What happens if the weather is bad?+
Safety wins, every time. If your captain cancels for weather, lightning, or unsafe wind, you reschedule for free, no fine print, no rebooking fees. Light rain or overcast skies usually don't cancel a sail; some of the most dramatic Lake Travis sunsets happen on partly cloudy evenings. Your safety and your experience always come first.
