No prior experience is required for any of our non-certification courses on Lake Travis. Discover Sailing, Intro to Sailing, and Basic Sailing are all built for true beginners and are taught by patient, experienced instructors. Even our Private Instruction option works for absolute first-timers, we tailor the lesson to wherever you are right now.
Discover Sailing is a 3-hour low-pressure ride for up to 4 guests, perfect if you just want to try it before committing. Intro to Sailing is a 6-hour hands-on class aboard a Beneteau First 22 where you'll start handling lines and the helm. Basic Sailing is a 12-hour intermediate course that prepares successful students to sail similar boats unsupervised in light to moderate winds and protected waters.
Discover Sailing starts at $400 for up to 4 guests. Intro to Sailing group classes start at $395 for one student, and Basic Sailing group classes start at $595. Private one-on-one instruction is available for any course at a custom rate, seven days a week.
All non-certification sailing classes meet at our marina at 103 Lakeway Dr Suite C, Lakeway, TX, on Lake Travis. The marina is about 30 minutes west of downtown Austin and offers free parking right by the dock. Classes sail directly from our slip, no shuttles or transfers required.
Yes, every non-certification class can be booked as a private one-on-one or small-group experience. Private formats let you pick your dates, set your own pace, and focus on the specific skills you want to develop. Group classes are capped at 4 students for plenty of helm time.
